Sloppy Sketches of Ilya by GingerOpal Sloppy Sketches of Ilya by GingerOpal
So my fingers were wondering if they were ever going to get to draw again. So I stayed up late and let the poor things actually sketch something! And this is who they chose to draw.

Ilya is my religous Russian cowboy who dislikes country music (unless it's John Denver). He was born in the U.S.S.R (back in the day) but grew up on a ranch in Wyoming. He can also become invisible and/or intangible and is quite good at simply disappearing altogether! So he is a spy for the forces of Good, but once in a while he does get caught.

I also scribbled some sloppy pictures of Katerina, but I'll post those a little later. :)

Cool! a former USSRian like my mom :D
If you ever need first hand accounts of the atrocious communist period of russia, let me know ;) (not that it's any better now...)

I can't really read what he's saying in the bubble speech :P But great sketches :D Fun to look at, like always

The speech bubble is boring anyway. It just says something about how the first sketch is crappy.

I haven't studied up on how Ilya gets from Russia to Wyoming yet, although it's out of pure necessity. But I do know I want him to be from Yekaterinburg...but that might change once I finally do my research. :XD:

You have a lovely, distinctive style. I like Country Music, unless it's John Denver.

I'm with Ilya on this one. I grew up on John Denver and I've always liked most of his stuff because, well, he's not really what most call "Country". There are very, very few Country songs I like. I could fit all of them on one CD. :XD:

Yes indeed! I just need to decide what his other names are. There are so many awesome Russian names I don't know which one to give him!

I asked my mom to look at him and think of a name. She said that he must also have his father's name as his middle name. So this is what she came up with:

Ilya Nikolaevich Seredovolsky

Here are some more surnames: Dostoyevsky (heehee, have you read crime and punishment?)
Romanovitch
Svidrigailov
Vaseliev

I can't think of any more on the spot :P
